Cheerful allegory of an old company. Oil on canvas, 70x50 cm

There was a time when the hyena laughed,
and with its great laugh, all anxiety was extinguished.
Two black crows perched on the hat,
wise guardians of a more beautiful secret.
And then that painted pink rabbit,
pure sweetness in a world of instinct.
Today those faces have moved away,
and the happy days are now forgotten.
But in my heart I still feel them here,
as in that dream of an old and sweet day:
we were fragments of instinct and magic,
united by time and a strange harmony.
Each little animal bore a resemblance to the true company made of real people, each of them made me think of every friend of mine in human form... And so I represent them in their pure aspect, without too many frills, I assure you!
