Original artwork description:

I love the beautiful peachy colouring of the chaffinch. I've added patterned paper to this mixed media canvas and picked out areas of light in the trees with sequins.

I start the canvas with a rough pencil sketch and then I add the coloured paper before building up the layers with acrylic paint. The last thing I add are the embellishments of thread, bits of pottery and glitter to pick out or highlight certain areas.
