Cat’s Cradle is the partner to my oil painting ‘Placebo/Nocebo’. The portrait of two hands interlinked is inspired from the childrens’ game, whereby a support is intertwined in play, which one person must take from the hands of another. In this game, the viewer must take the cradle from the drawing – the entwined hands, the play – and yet cannot. The artwork is a Placebo, and image of something which isn’t available to the viewer. Someone else is holding hands, neither of them is you.
