An original painting of Cartmel Priory in the centre of Cartmel village on the southern edge of Cumbria. The original priory at Cartmel was founded by Augustinian monks in the 12th century. The Dissolution of the Monasteries saw most of the priory dismantled, apart from the church and the gatehouse. Painted on location (from the far end of the churchyard) in mixed media (pen, ink, watercolour wash and oil pastel) on Bockingford 300gsm acid-free paper. The painting is supplied unmounted and unframed and will be sent in a postal tube.
