I've lived in or near Manchester for nearly 55 years, it's a maze of backstreets and you can never be quite sure what's around the corner. Nearer the centre it's usually the canal, a bustling centre of life which carried cargo to and from Liverpool and beyond. It almost seems to wind amongst the buildings in the city centre.
