Original artwork description:

This pair of multi color paintings are especially versatile because they can be hung vertically or horizontally, together or separately. So many options to brighten a space with bold color and texture.

These patterns were inspired by Guatemalan woven ribbons. These textiles have a special significance too me as my parents met each other in Guatemala and growing up, Guatemalan textiles were always in our home.

These are painted with encaustic, a combination of beeswax, resin, and pigment, which is melted and painted while hot. The mixture hardens as it cools. Encaustics are very durable,(examples remain from ancient Egypt) but like all art work, it should be protected from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.

Comes framed in simple white edge frame, and ready to hang in two orientations.

Materials used:

Encaustic
