This image of a camellia under snow was taken in Katoomba, Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia, in winter 2016. It was an unexpected snow fall that painted the streets and plants white. At the same time, many flowers (including summer daisies!) were flowering and the freezing temperatures did not seem to affect them. This image highlights the crispiness of the snow which outlines the petal and leaves of this camellia. The placement of the camellia in the bottom right corner symbolises its striving towards the invisible sun rays.
