This is a very large watercolour depicting nine butterfly species from around the globe and composed in an arc to represent a rainbow.
All the illustrated species are life size and painted using many glazes of watercolour to obtain the photo-realistic detail and vibrant colours. Each butterfly is painted with the use of a magnifying glass and took many hours to complete all the intricate and detailed patterns and colours to reveal a remarkable and very collectible piece of natural history art.
