Original artwork description:
Painted on-site at on Burlington Bay, Two Harbors, MN. Features a view of the bay with dark green pine trees on the horizon, and autumn-touched birch trees in ochre, orange, and gold along the shoreline. Patterns of light and color dance through the water and the clouds, and white-capped waves splash against the rocks.
Painted in oil over casein on canvas with both palette knife and brush. Running and dripping effects form the casein underpainting can be seen in the sky. Thicker textured paint applied with palette knife adds a textural contrast in the trees and rocks. Foliage contains iridescent gold and brass paint.
Canvas stretched on 1.5 inch stretcher bars with painted sides for a "gallery-wrap" style. Hanging wire on the back and requires no frame.
