My "Raku" series incorporates my love of raku pottery, my fascination of Japanese Kanji symbols, and my passion in woodworking. I use acrylic texture that resembles raku pottery; thin pieces of wood to form parts of Kanji symbols; and deeply saturated color. This painting is bronze, dark jade green, and black to make it appear like beautifully aged brass and the kanji symbol means “brushstroke”. The painting is on 24” x 24” x 1.5" museum grade gallery wrapped canvas. The sides are painted black so framing is optional. It is wired and ready to hang.
