Artist's description:

One of a series of 12 large paintings demonstrating the contrast between renewable and synthetic manufactured materials through the form of landscape. This portion of the series features the transition from winter into Spring and Summer. The mountains were inspired by Banff National Park. The acrylic (manufactured) landscape was torn apart and pieced back together using wood panel, hide glue, marble gesso and handmade gouache. The silhouettes in between the pieces symbolize the earth's power to regenerate. This one features a root finding it's way in between the cracks.

Materials used:

cotton, acrylic, wood board, marble gesso, hide glue, methyl cellulose, gouache
