Breath of Blue I (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by Ivana Urso

A suspended balance between stillness and movement, where blue becomes a space for depth, silence, and contemplation. The layers of material preserve traces of light and surfacing memories, while a barely perceptible writing traverses the surface like a thought that chooses not to be fully realized.
The lunar presence emerges discreetly, not as a descriptive element, but as a light retained within the material, capable of suggesting an interior horizon rather than a landscape.
The work is part of the research project Oltre il Bianco, in which the circle, a central symbol of over twenty years of experimentation, progressively loses its shape until it dissolves into the background. The material remains, with its tensions, its transparencies, and its silences, preserving the story of time and transformation.
