Have you ever noticed how colourful bramble leaves are in Autumn? I think they are one of the most beautiful of our native plants in the UK during the run up to Winter.
Jewel like hues shining out from a tangle of thorny stems. Pinks Yellows Greens and maroons creating a patchwork of leaves threading their way through grasses and reeds by the waters edge.
This painting is based on a view at Hinchingbrooke park. It was early December and the light was fading fast but the far side of the lake was lit up by the low sun whilst in the foreground the bramble leaves needed no spotlight for their moment of glory.
The painting is supplied in a white mount and will fit a frame size 40cm x 40cm.
