Artist's description:

Even as a child I remember this cinema as a bombed out shell. That was in the early 1970s. A mysterious square of weeds and rubble. A poignant reminder of the fire storm that once enveloped this corner of Hull. Next door is a pub, above a sky of blue, fresh and hopeful. I have used elements of collage, original and from the 1960s, to enhance the work. It is on a 0.4" deep canvas. It can therefore hang without the need for framing.

Materials used:

acrylic and collage
