Indian dance. A fascinating subject I love to return to for the body language. Here I have a male dancer and musicians.
There’s lots of skin to work with, and a chance to blur the cloth for movement. The thick parchment paper takes nicely to acrylic paint dripped onto it.
The paper I use is a traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. It is a thick parchment type paper, strong yet pliable. I have the paper made to this size to get the deckled edges which adds to the textural effect.
The close up picture is of higher resolution to be able to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting.
