Original artwork description:

This Ink and Acrylic piece was created on Fabriano Artistico Paper in 2014 as preparation and practice for the Sky Portrait Artist of the Year 2014 competition. I wanted to practice using different types of paper and also subjects with different skin tones. I have always been a huge fan of Bob Marley and his music and so he was a perfect subject. I started this piece by first using masking tape to create the border around the image. I like to do this to preserve the original material and give the image a frame or border similar to a print. Then I drew out the portrait in pencil and then when I was happy with the size, likeness and placement, I defined the outline in Ink. After that I added thin layers of Acrylic Paint to the areas that I wanted to colour, carefully leaving the brightest highlight areas as bare white paper. After I was happy with the layers and tones of colour and they had dried, I added Ink onto the top of the image. I like to use this process because as I add the Ink by hatching and shading, the image starts to appear and become more defined, almost like it is emerging out of the picture. I like the control of using Pen and Ink as it allows me to add very minute details into my pictures and gradually build them up. One Love.

Due to this I have had to increase the the cost of shipping my artworks in line with the Delivery Companies. I will always strive to find the cheapest possible option for the customer (usually my local POST OFFICE EMS Recorded Delivery, but unfortunately they don’t deliver worldwide at the moment) If the amount of shipping charged at purchase is less than the shipping company charges then I will refund the difference to the customer. This refund will be done after the picture has arrived safely and has been accepted.
Any import duties, taxes and charges that may be payable are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges, if applicable, will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please message me to check if this might affect your purchase.
