Artwork description:

Limited Edition colour linocut inspired by the annual Bluedot music and science festival at Jodrell Bank, Cheshire.

This is a large linocut made using several carved blocks of lino, one for each colour. The ink is transferred to the paper by rubbing the back with a baren and a wooden spoon. (Takes a while!).

The actual print is 37cm wide and 27cm high (roughly A3 - so fairly large).

This is an edition of 50, and, as always with linocuts, each print will vary slightly since they are produced by hand. Each print is numbered, titled and signed on the front by me, the artist.

I went to the Bluedot Festival several years ago and loved the mix of space, science, science-fiction, astronomy, comedy and music. So much going on! The setting is superb as well, beneath that impressive radio telescope.

The linocut is printed in oil-based inks on acid free paper and comes with a mount which brings the overall size to 50cm by 40cm - which is a common size and easy to frame. It will be delivered with a backing board and cellophane wrap.

International orders will be sent without a mount, rolled with acid-free tissue paper in a tube.

Materials used:

oil-based printing inks, colour, lino
