The explosion of bluebells under the UK's woodland canopy in springtime is a much loved and anticipated time of year
It encapsulates the transformative power of nature, and for me also emphasises the need to have care how we manage our environment at a local as well as global level.
We need to be mindful of future human development so we do not destroy as we create.
2022 has been a particularly good year for bluebells, the weather coming in the right proportions, good rain and good sun when needed.
Ashridge estate is one of my favourite places to go hunting for good bluebell carpets. Here I was also impressed by the back lighting of the new leaves and the shadows of the trees.
