Artist's description:

This image is of a block of ice breaking off an iceberg floating on the Tasman Lake in the Mount Cook National Park on South Island, New Zealand. The iceberg had recently calved (broken) off the front of the Tasman Glacier at the end of the lake and was now floating freely on the lake. The dark marks on the iceberg are the remnants of the rocks contained in the ice as it moved in the glacier down the mountain.
