Artist's description:

I started this painting several years ago and recently decided to continue working on it. I added more layers of wax and resin, moving some of the colors with a butane torch. Every layer must be heat fused to make the colors permanent and smooth to the touch. A ceramic-like surface is created.

I love "petting" my encaustic painting. The touch is sensual and adds to the brilliance.

After scraping with a razor blade to uncover underlying subtle colors, I added charcoal to define the moving lines. That also must be fused for permanence .

Along the way of creating this painting, it felt like colorful leaves blowing in the wind, and I felt like dancing.

Materials used:

beeswax, damar resin, pigments,
