Artist's description:

Photographing historic English gardens in black and white appeals to me as a means of expressing the grandeur and formality of the garden design without the distraction of colour!

This image of the statuette is full of texture with the ivy, stone and the rich patina of age. There is also a sense of extravagance in its location which typifies these gardens.

Materials used:

photographed on b+w 120 film, scanned negetive, printed on archival matt inkjet paper

Blickling Hall Gardens, Norfolk, Study#1 (2015)
