Acrylic on wood panel.
Heavily textured crocodile skin.
The creation of this piece is a process of four days:
- the wood is cut and the wooden lip is assembled at the back to add depth and for ease of hanging.
- texture/modeling paste is mixed and applied to create thick crocodile skin texture
- when the texture paste is dry the artwork is painted adding shadows to replicate real crocodile skin
- finally, the whole piece is finished with gel medium in gloss, to accentuate the heavy texture and vibrancy of colors
Each creation is entirely unique and a definite statement piece.
Tip: Focused lighting adds to drama of this piece
