MATERIALS: sides are painted I use different medium paint and varnish protective that gives deep color. Painting sign in the front nad also on the back.

The sides are painted, so base base framing comes with nice extension. So you can pick solid or thick base frame.
I use a gloss varnish to add shine and to protect the painting from harmful UV rays and dust.
