This is based on a reference photo I took while out walking the dogs. It was early morning with a lovely light. These delicate flowers were growing off the side of the trail. I wasn't sure, at the time, what they were, and have since found out they are wild sweet peas.
The painting is of a more detailed work on the left of the blossoms just opening; on the right, is a more extensive portion of the stem with the buds, as well as some flowers in full bloom, hence the title, "Becoming".
