Artist's description:

This 19th Century French poet and translator is probably best known for his work, Fleures de Mal, and for translating Edgar Allen Poe's works into French. Usually the name of the translator is a footnote; sometimes it is not even mentioned on the work of a foreign author. Baudelaire was categorized as a decadent writer, with a fondness for opium and alcohol and he died relatively young.
