The Bass Rock is a little island in the Firth of Forth, in the East of Scotland. It is a bird sanctuary which is home to 150,000 gannets in peak breeding season as well as many other sea birds which is why the rock is turned white in summer. Here is is still spring and the rock has yet to be covered in the accumulated guano. On a sunny day as depicted here there are few more beautiful sights along the Scottish East Coast than the vivid blue of the sea and sky.
Canvas board and acrylic paint.
