Bailey Power Plant 6 ~ A truly original (1/1) photograph
A close in detail of the old RJR Bailey Power Plant in Winston Salem, NC. This bit of history will not last forever and at the time of this posting there are plans in the work to improve this Winston Salem Landmark. I was happy to make several images of this unique quality before the old plant is significantly changed. This section of the power plant caught my attention with its high contrast multi direction lines and various materials. I also really like doors that open to nothing. (or danger)
A black and white 5x7 direct positive fiber base print. This image is the actual photographic paper used in the photographers Kodak 2-D 5x7 camera at time of exposure. The image appears reversed from how one would perceive the actual scene because the camera lens casts an inverted image onto the photographic paper.
The paper is a direct positive photographic fibre base paper which has been carefully processed, washed and treated with selenium toner in the photographer darkroom.
The print has been dry mounted using bright white 8x10 archival matboard. The signed and dated top mat is dry mounted as well making this a solid piece. Framing is black metal with premium anti-reflective Water White ArtGlass. Complete framed size is approximately 9.4x11.4x.75
