This is Ganesh, the Indian God as a baby, imagined by me. Ganesh is the most favourite God of the Indians and his birthday is celebrated all over India as Ganesh Chathurthi. He dispels all hurdles in life, so a prayer is made to him before commencement of anything, a new venture or even a journey!

There is a long story in Indian mythology as to how he got his elephant head. And his vehicle is a mouse!! His brother Subramanya's vehicle is a peacock and his father Shiva wears a cobra around his neck while his mother rides a tiger! Indirectly, Indian mythology protects its fauna! Hinduism is more a way of life than a religion.
