This is one of my artworks dedicated to Nature. An original abstract painting, somewhat impressionistic in style, bright, yet atmospheric and introspective...
It depicts a beautiful autumn day -- one of those days on a cusp between golden warmth of Indian Summer and first morning frost -- and the rows of trees over a lake. Everything is so still, almost suspended in time,.. air crisp and clear, all shapes are well-defined, all colors are saturated-rich and in perfect harmony. The trees still sporting luscious crowns made of multi-colored foliage, painted in all hues of gold, copper, yellows and reds. The sky is almost unnaturally bright-blue. Truly, a feast for eyes. The water reflects this wonderful polychromatic mix and tempts occasional park visitors to take a dip. But one must not be fooled by this temptation. This deep water is quite freezing this time of the year. It's an early afternoon and it feels pleasantly warm, but soon, very soon as the sun sets in, it'll get cold enough to snuggle around the fire. But there's still some time left to enjoy the sun, that slow-moving water and the leaves turning colors. Ahhh,... so very good to be alive on a day like that...
This artwork reflects my love of autumn -- my favorite season -- with its abundant cornucopia of vibrant, fast-changing hues and colors. I'm mostly taken by the contrast of crisp, cool blues of sky and water with the warmth of gold, yellow, red and earthy tones of foliage and often use different media/ style to to paint it. I painted this piece with acrylic on cotton duck canvas, working out contrast between copper and blue, bright and dark hues, and used lots of sponging to achieve different texture.
The painting comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. The sides are painted, so it can be hanged framed or unframed.
