The 'king' can also be a 'queen'. Of course, the title is more inspired by chess pieces. But this is a non-figurative dynmical organic sculpture made from the wood of the ash tree. It's a very hard and light wood which has a beautyful structure. It's a tall sculpture which is fixed on a plate of stainless steel.
The long piece of wood once I have transported by my bicycle because where I found it it wasn't possible in another way. It was a little advanture. It dried a longer time and I started to work. When I start a new sculpture There is always no exact idea of the shape. Ther is more an idea of a character of the sculpture which I want to create. For me is important the natural material and I want to give dignity to it.
The wood is treated with a colorless wax.
