Pippy likes to help her Grandpa on his allotment, he tells her how to grow the best veg and war stories. Then they make hot chocolate in the shed, where he keeps a secret stash mint humbugs
Pippy is an original handmade doll created from polymer clay, (I do not use molds). The doll is then painted using acrylic paint and the face detail is watercolour and pencil, the hair is mohair. Her dress is made from vintage fabrics. Pippy is 25cm tall and can be seated propped up on a shelve.
The dolls I make are fragile and are therefore not suitable for young children as toys
Being a bit of a magpie and for many years gathering interesting collectables, vintage fabrics, lace, buttons, driftwood and many other items that catch my eye along came my strangely beautiful dolls.
The dolls are all individual pieces of art. They are developed from the depths of my imagination or I am inspired by interesting people that come my way. I find much of my creativity from old fairy tales, children’s book illustrators, film and all that is a bit quirky.
