I have lately been fascinated by observing how much colour and different textures there are in many old buildings of Madrid. Their facades often exhibit deep maroon, ochre, yellow and other warm colours as well as balconies with iron railings and old fashioned green roller blinds. During 2015 I have been trying to capture some of that atmosphere of the old Madrid district in a series of paintings loosely executed with acrylic colours applied with rollers and finished with brushes on MDM board.
