Artist's description:

From October to December 2017 an artist's project was started, lead by Bremen's famous Kunsthalle: Parallel to their exhibition covering the work of Max Beckmann three selected works (Apachentanz, Vor dem Kostümfest, Selbstbildnis als Clown) were to be interpreted by different local artists. More than 100 different pieces of art were created this way. I did try 4 different techniques with all three images and this is one of the results (just check my profile for the others...).
This is "Apachen" made as a 100% recycle engraving: I did use not a classic metal sheet and acids as usually for etchings, but the inside of an empty milk package and scratched my picture there. Then I recycled old newspapers and made my own, unbleached paper from that. Then 10 examples were printed - 5 went directly back to paper-making due to quality reasons, so an edition of 5 was left. Signed and numbered with pencil on the front and embossed with my personal logo every piece is unique (This is why there is just one available now, I'll change all the fotos for the next picture).
If You are interested in the original Beckmann image google Max Beckmann Apachentanz - You will see that the faces differ: To enhancen Beckmann's love for theatre, cinema and show I did swop the faces and tried to take portraits from Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe (though I have to admit, that is not very obvious).

Materials used:

handmade paper, empty milk package, colour
