Artist's description:

One of the pleasures of canoeing is the moments when portage is necessary, carrying the canoe and all the equipment across a spit of land between channels. When using a 16 foot canoe, this is done with two people, one in front and one in the rear, moving in lock step to make the jaunt easier. This transfer resulted in this view done from memory of my time in Florida. A beautiful place during any season.
