This is a relief print made with a photopolymer plate, so it uses the same technique as linocut, but the plate is produced from a photograph. The plate has been bitten quite deep, so the paper is embossed, which you will see if you look closely at the photograph. Alive is from the same series of work as 'Can you fell my Heart Beat?', 'At First Sight' and 'Whover Loved that loved not at first sight?'. It was inspired by my walks in Hampstead Heath, and how I feel when I am surrounded by nature in what is one of the largest cities in the world.
Alive exists in various shades of pink, but can also be commissioned in a different colour, at the same price as the existing ones.
