This painting was painted from the bow of my narrowboat Peewit this winter. I moored at the Aldreth facing upstream on the Old West and had lovely weather. I was glad to be free of the ice that had stopped me moving for days. After spending two days grounded on the Old West it was a relief to have some kind conditions.
This painting is on an earth coloured sand ground surface and the method I have used is a combination scumbling and dry brush. This original oil painting is on Canvas board with a 2 inch white border.
