Original artwork description:

The mighty Baobab tree, or Tree of Life. Native to Africa. So called because it provides shade in dry areas, as well as clothing, food, and water for the animal and human inhabitants of the African Savannah regions. The cork-like bark and huge stem are fire resistant and are used for making cloth and rope. Legend surrounding the upside-down tree is that it was turned upside down so that the branches now resemble roots. The artist was experimenting with a bright vibrant red and orange - mirroring the heat and vibrancy of Africa and cooled by the lime green base. The subtle symbols in the lime are African and represent positive themes such as strength, courage, teamwork etc.. I tried this vertical version, changing the colors slightly. I enjoy the result.
