An acrylic skin snake hypnotizes you with color.
I created this piece by assembling recycled acrylic skins to form the snake. The background was made with poured paint covered in translucent, acrylic glazes. It is bright and vivid in person with a gloss varnish on the snake and a satin background. It is signed on the bottom edge and signed and dated on the back.

What is an acrylic skin?
An acrylic skin is simply a thin skin of acrylic paint. Acrylic skins are formed by stacking thin layers of acrylic paint on a smooth surface. The paint is left to dry and then peeled off. Acrylic skins stick to themselves and smooth surfaces like plastic wrap. The thinner the skin, the more delicate and difficult it is to work with.
