Original artwork description:

My inspiration for this painting came from the horses that I found in a rural pasture a couple of years ago. I painted three of them into a quiet country scene from my imagination. This piece measures 18" x 14" x .75 and is done in acrylic on stretched canvas. The sides of this gallery wrap canvas are painted to match and it is wired to hang, so that no framing is necessary.

My painting style leans towards Realism, with a touch of the Abstract at times, although I often use elements of Tonalism and Minimalism in them.  I have been inspired by the Tonalists, Hudson River School Artists, Minimalists, Abstract & Realist artists for my art. I work mainly in acrylic paint on stretched canvas, for my Heartland landscapes.  I paint with a process of building up many layers, using both wet and dry brush techniques, for my paintings.  My art work has been described as having an intriguing peacefulness, in its quiet simplicity.

My original landscape paintings are in private collections throughout the U.S.A. as well as in : Canada, France, Iceland, Portugal, Belgium, England, Ireland, Scotland, Italy, Japan, Brazil, Zimbabwe, and Australia.

Materials used:

acrylic paint
