Artist's description:

I had always wanted to do a large drawing of a crowded DC Metro station, in the style of James Ensor. Initially, I was inspired by his drawings, paintings and etchings of crowds (Entry of Christ into Brussels, Bathers of Ostende). This piece, however, didn't quite turn out the way I intended, but instead turned into a surrealist trip down an indefinable train station with people frozen in time, some holding strange objects. For the figures, I sketched people traveling by bus and by train.
