Norham castle on the Tweed. This is the subject of J W M Turner's last work - he painted from upstream. It's just up the road, and up river, from me. I had to paint this and it's been a real bitch to paint. The colours, in reality, are muted and I've pushed pushed them as hard as I can without entering the fantasy. The price does not reflect the effort that went into this. I'm off to the pub...
