Original artwork description:
The light coming through some Venetian blinds reminded me of Robert Mapplethorpe's flower photography, and so I set this up as a bit of an homage to him. I wanted strong colour contrasts to work with the looser brushwork and thicker impasto.
The canvas has a deep profile, with painted edges, and so does not need a frame (although one could be aded if preferred.)
Materials used:
Highest quality artists' oil paint on heavy cotton canvas.
