Original artwork description:

A large fun, expressive, clean statement piece. Having to do with things around us in daily life and the busyness of our culture. Acrylic, found material, graphite, ink, pastel on canvas. Very textural. Material coming out from canvas.

Mixed Media artist, DYANNA DIMICK, lets material and her eco-friendly lifestyle drive her creative process.

Her work explores color, shape, material and juxtaposition, with a focus on organization, multiples, and the overload of today’s consumerism culture. Our modern obsession with vanity occasionally sneaks into her work.

Dyanna turns used and discarded items, from her environment, back into desired pieces. Our eyes tune out thousands of objects around us because we don't have a current need for them or they don't seem important to us. Dyanna sees something special in these items. Collecting also keeps her attuned to her environment.

Conscious of the consumerism cycle, she'd rather find her material than buy it. We live with pollution. We accept it and it becomes invisible. She uses the material as part of her palette to mimic this.
