Artist's description:

For centuries, composers have taken a melody from another composer and created their own piece, based on that theme – usually named “Variations on a theme by . . .” It occurs to me that an artist should have the same freedom. In “The Scream” by Edvard Munch, there is no obvious reason for the subject to scream; in my ‘variation’ there are the flames of a raging inferno just behind him, and what of the mysterious figure in black appearing from the background – Is this Death coming to meet the screamer? Maybe he has cause to scream!

My pictures are all created on my computer using various inputs – photographic, scanned, drawn and painted using a stylus or made by the computer’s programming. They are printed using archival imnks on a high quality artists’ paper (the ink manufacturer gives a life in excess of 99 years).
