Inspired by the wall of mountains that forms the backdrop for this scenic city were I used to live.
The paper is handmade, thick, about 300gm weight, from the Gandhi co-op industries in India.
The colour looks as fresh today as it did when I first did the painting, a testimony to the quality of the traditional Chinese inks I used then. My paintings in that period were done on location, without preliminary sketches nor any working lines on the paper. This is paint applied directly on a blank page. The paint is from traditional colour paint sticks ground on stone with water. The close up picture is of higher resolution to be able to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting.
