This artwork is created from 100 10cmx10cm linen canvases painted with acrylic paint. They are mounted on the board without a frame. The patterns and colours are of real pebbles from Budleigh Salterton beach in Devon. I photographed them in water to bring up the colour. The idea behind it is that the beach from the distance looks grey but individual pebbles are not and they are uniquely beautiful. A crowd looks grey but individual people are not.
It is also fascinating from the scientific point of view. I have recorded artistically the unique combination of rocks of Budleigh beach. Different place would have different patterns and colours.
