Artist's description:

1 Line drawing of a Nepali woman making tea at Durbar Square in Kathmandu. She was selling the tea at the base of one of the Pagodas. We had the tea peacefully at the top of the Pagoda, contemplating the beauty of the city and its people. This is a series of 1 Line drawings based on my experience while travelling in Nepal few years ago with my husband.

The 1 continuous line is a very innovative, experimental and rather difficult to execute technique, where the chosen tool (in this case an ink marker) creates an image with a single trace. The markers is not lifted at all until the picture is completed. The technical challenge of this technique is remarkable, as the artist’s hand is on the visual area for most of the execution time, and no corrections are allowed! Then, I add watercolor to enrich the image and add depth. Information about the photos of the artwork displayed here: contrast and brightness may have been slightly modified, where applicable. Dimensions are approximate, contact for confirmation.
