1 Line drawing of a mother breastfeeding her baby. It is not always easy, but it is so worthy! For both mom and baby. The key thing in my opinion is to get the right help from a lactation expert, when needed. In particular, I find that La Liga de la Leche (LLL) are a wonderful source of very valuable information, help, care and support.
I started doing this collection: "1 Line Babies" when I had my babygirl in February 2016. Obviously I do not have a lot of free time but it is one of the best experiences in my entire life. I breastfeed her and we love to share this intimacy, bond, love and ... it is also the best food for her! Very often I draw and paint while carrying her in a baby wrap sling. This choice can be demanding but for me it is fantastic!
The 1 continuous line is a very innovative, experimental and rather difficult to execute technique, where the chosen tool (in this case an ink marker) creates an image with a single trace. The markers is not lifted at all until the picture is completed. The technical challenge of this technique is remarkable, as the artist’s hand is on the visual area for most of the execution time, and no corrections are allowed! Then, I add watercolor to enrich the image and add depth. Information about the photos of the artwork displayed here: contrast and brightness may have been slightly modified, where applicable. Dimensions are approximate, contact for confirmation.
