About Will Hurt

  • Biography
I'm best known for my brightly coloured, playful, digital interactives which cater to people of all ages and abilities and are often made as responses to the architectural geometry of the physical sites they are installed in, abstracting and re-presenting local architecture and landscape.

Recent work focuses on contemporary modes of drawing in which complex architecturally inspired geometric scenes can be created, animated and explored.

For this selection of editioned digital prints available on ArtFinder, I’ve selected work which best represents my output over the last few years, often remaking the work to be able to take high-resolution screenshots.

Since graduating from the Slade School of Fine Art in 2009, I have exhibited nationally and internationally; given talks at Tate, QUAD and Queen Mary University; been commissioned by Nottingham Contemporary, Edinburgh International Science Festival and Derby Silk Mill; been a resident on the British Council’s DigiPoems programme in Harare, Zimbabwe and the British Council’s ColabNowNow programme in Maputo, Mozambique- to which I will be returning this year as a facilitator. I was a finalist for the Lumen Prize in 2017 and a judge for the Prize in 2019, and received a Shine Emerging Artist Award in 2017.

All work is printed and shipped with the utmost care and attention to detail.
