  • Biography

     Mathematician/computer scientist Eugene Norris’s passion is computational fine art photography.  His photo images are considerably enhanced on a computer and are individually printed in signed, limited editions. He is an active member of ASPEC at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg and and of SunTan Art Center, in St. Pete Beach, where he has had several one-man shows.  He belongs to The National Association of Professional Photoshop Users and is an emeritus member of Sigma Xi, the international honorary scientific research community.

    He has had a two-month show at the gallery Art on First in St Petersburg and has also had two shows as Artist of the Month at Sun Tan Art.  His work has been shown in numerous group shows with SunTan Art, The Photographic Arts Society of St. Petersburg, and at ASPEC, The Academy of Senior Professionals at Eckerd College. He was a Featured Artist at The Art on First Gallery in 2015 in St. Petersburg.  In 2016 he received Special Recognition and Special Merit Awards in the Botanicals 2016 Exhibition sponsored by The Light Space & Time On-Line Gallery.  He is planning an extended solo show for Summer, 2016 at Opera Center in St Petersburg, Florida.  He lives on a barrier island near St. Petersburg.

    Gene does his own printing and mounting, principally on stretched Epson Exhibition canvas up to 24 inches on the short side.  Larger size are available as well.  Editions are limited to 25 in number, and prints are individually numbered and signed; a signed certificate of authenticity is provided to each buyer on request.  He also accepts commissions and special orders.
